Perhaps you have a friend or family member that added a Christmas puppy to the household. Be a good friend and leverage your positive influence to educate:

• puppies should not be left outside unsupervised, even if the yard is fenced or if the puppy is placed on a tether
• educate about the dangers of predators: animal and human
• gift a collar that the puppy can grow into (choose embroidered as a tag might be too much depending on if the puppy is a small breed dog)
• remind the owner(s) that as the puppy grows, the collar must be adjusted to avoid cutting into the puppy’s skin
• snap photos as the puppy grows; coloring and fur can change as the puppy grows
