All pet owners who are displaced by the floods: If at all possible, please have your pet’s vet records and / or a contact phone number for your vet with you. This will help you find boarding, if necessary for your pets.

Red Cross of Eastern Missouri
The regional Red Cross is working directly with HSMO to help animal owners keep all their pets safe.
If someone needs to find a shelter, they can visit redcross.org, check the Red Cross Emergency App (The free Emergency App is available in app stores by going to www.redcross.org/apps ) or call 1-800-768-8048. You can find more information at http://www.redcross.org
In addition to shelters, Red Cross volunteers are providing food and relief items and health and mental health services. In some areas, Red Cross caseworkers are beginning to connect one-on-one with families now to create recovery plans and access additional support.
Jefferson County Animal Care and Control
For residents in Jefferson County, Jefferson County Animal Control just posted that they can provide temporary housing. It’s part of their emergency disaster preparedness plan. (636)-797-5577
I caution kitty owners, if you have a cat that is prone to being stressed, and acts a lot like a feral kitty when scared, please take your kitty with you, instead of taking them to Jefferson County Animal Control.
Open Door Animal Sanctuary
Is also taking in displaced pets at their facility located at 6065 Duda Road, House Springs, MO. Please give them a call at 636-671-3643 before going over there with your pet to be sure they still have space.
Manchester West Veterinary Hospital
Is offering a considerable discount to board displaced dogs and cats for $5 a day through 5-15-17. Located at 16396 Truman Road, Ellisville, MO 636-458-9010. Again, please call before taking your pet there to be sure they still have space.
Pacific Animal Hospital – Eureka and Pacific, MO (residents only)
As of May 1st, due to all the flooding, this hospital is offering boarding of displaced pets in immediate flood zones of Eureka and Pacific, MO. Proof of residency in Eureka and Pacific; and current vaccinations are required. They ask that you call before bringing your pet to them.
